St. Edward High School's English Philosophy
Reading, writing, listening, and speaking are important skills and a vital part of St. Edward High School’s efforts to help form young men of character who possess “the competence to see and the courage to act as men of faith.” Through literature we learn both about others and about ourselves, and through our use of language we can help shape our world. Therefore, the abilities to listen attentively, to read carefully, to write effectively, and to speak articulately have an important place in St. Edward High School’s Holy Cross mission to shape the minds, hearts, and hands of its students.
Worth Noting:
From 2002 to 2007, Flight, St. Edward's Literary Magzine, earned the "Superior" Award from the National Council of English Teachers. In 2008, it won the "Excellent" Award.
The Edsman Student Newspaper completed a total redesign in 2008 and launched a new website.
