The St. Edward High School Mathematics Philosophy Mathematics, the language of science, opens the mind to creative thought and abstract thinking.
Worth Noting:
St. Edward requires students to take three years of Mathematics; 95% of all seniors elect to take an additional Mathematics course.
The department runs the largest Grade School Math Contest in Northern Ohio.
Over the last 7 years, 73 of the 112 students who have tested in Advanced Placement BC Calculus have scored a perfect score of 5. Additionally, 88% have scored a 4 or higher and 99% have scored a 3 or higher. During that same time period 63% of all Advanced Placement AB students scored a 3 or higher. The Math Department requires all students who sit for the course to take the AP Examination.
